Michel E. Nelson
Mike Nelson is senior vice president of natural gas pipeline operations for ONEOK Partners, responsible for the safety, compliance, reliability, engineering and construction, financial accountability and organizational development of the partnership’s interstate and intrastate pipeline organization.
Nelson began his career with Northern Natural Gas in 1968 and served in various operations, technical and managerial positions until being named an officer in 1997. He subsequently served as an officer for Transwestern Pipeline, Florida Gas Transmission, Midwestern Gas Transmission, Viking Gas Transmission and Northern Border Pipeline.
Nelson joined ONEOK in 2004 as part of ONEOK’s purchase of the majority general partner interest in Northern Border Partners and has held his current position with ONEOK Partners since 2006.
Active in the community and the industry, he is a member of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America’s Operations, Safety and Environment committee. Nelson serves on the board of directors for the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, volunteers with the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and several other charitable and/or church groups.
A native of Minnesota, Nelson attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
